Northern Grid for Learning - School Broadband, eSafety, Learning Resources and More

This small case study summarises the benefits Middlesbrough has gained by working in partnership with Northern Grid.

Our current Learning Platform has found widespread use across Middlesbrough as an administrative and educational tool. It has enabled teachers to extend teaching and learning across the boundaries of the school gates and the school day.

They have been able to provide pupils with high quality, media-rich learning experiences and offer pupils new ways of learning and collaborating within a safe and secure environment. Teachers and pupils see and work within a simple, flexible environment. ‘Back-stage’ it’s a complex process with several systems working together to make the whole operation possible. Northern Grid for Learning co-ordinate by managing connectivity, security, e-safety and the smooth running of the Learning Platform. In addition they provide vision, expertise and a regional and national presence.
