It has been just over 70 years since the start of the Second World War.
We've compiled a list of some great World War 1 and 2 resources for you to use.
- World War II - Transition & Modern Foreign Languages
- This resource was designed to assist teachers to help pupils foster an intergenerational and trans-national understanding of social relationships in the context of a major world event. It includes 5 distinct themed units of work from Key Stage 2 to A level. Also included is an exclusive commissioned video resource. The various resources support MFL / Literacy / Citizenship / Thinking Skills / History and ICT.
- Infantryman's Diary
- This diary, kept by William Falcus in World War I, has been made available by Tyne and Wear Archives. There is a scanned version, transcript and other documents, along with suggested classroom activities for literacy and history tageted at Key Stage 2, 3 and 4.
- Amy's War
- This resource is focused through a fictional story set over 3 generations. beginning just after the war in 1950, nine year old Amy discovers objects from WW2 in her dads allotment shed.
- Surviving Belsen
- This resource looks into eye witness accounts and photographs from Belsen Concentration Camp.
- Westall's War
- This resource examines the AIr Raid disaster that occured in North Shields, England in 1941.
