Initial documentation will be sent to all twelve BECTA accredited Learning Platform providers listed on the BECTA framework.
The regional learning platform contract is due to expire in January 2009. All local authorities, which use the Netmedia product, are keen that some provision is ensured beyond January 2009. The new procurement will be undertaken using the BECTA Learning Platform Framework. In order to enable the procurement process to be undertaken in a proper manner, the Local Authorities have requested an extension of the current contract until the end of the academic year 2009.
The final Statement of Requirements is in its final stages and is due to be sent out to potential suppliers on the 8th August once the initial Pre Qualifying Questionnaires are returned by any interested suppliers. Local Authority partners should note that a regional procurement which uses this framework will bring greater benefits than an individual LA procurement.
LA partners are urged to support this regional procurement and to identify officers and teaching staff who are willing to take part in the procurement process to find the preferred provider(s). The timetable of events has already been sent out to LA board members and LA officers.
