Josie's Poems is a great collection of poems by Josie Whitehead, made for everyone but especially for children.

A word from Josie:

I only wish that I had had Wordsworth or even Robert Louis Stevenson, or Lewis Carroll to have led me step by step through writing one of their poems.

I work extremely hard on behalf of the teachers leading children through various poems, page to page, to encourage them to write with a writer. The children get lots of help with putting ‘metre’ into their work, as well as showing them how to use alliteration, assonance, consonance, metaphors, similes etc to enhance their work. I give them lots of exercises to encourage them to write and I write for every age group there is.
