Espresso Education is working with the University of Hull to provide a practical online CPD course. There will be a trial between January and July 2010. This is free for a limited number of places and you can apply as an individual or group.
Why would teachers want to do this course?
- Recognised and assessed qualification as evidence of work in teaching and learning with digital media (Level 4 = First year at University level, 10 credits)
- Evidence for individual CPD targets
- Focused on teaching and learning in your own classroom
- Practical and relevant
- Flexible in terms of time
- Professional online support/guidance and resources
- Helps you to get better value for money from your espresso/Clipbank service
- Develop generic skills that can be applied across teaching and learning
The course begins with helping you to place where digital media fits into your teaching and children's learning. You will then be able to choose 3 from the following areas:
|
Teaching and learning with digital images
|
Teaching and learning with your interactive whiteboard
|
|
Teaching and learning with digital audio
|
Teaching and learning with your learning platform
|
|
Teaching and learning with digital video
|
Teaching and learning with online interactive tools (Web2)
|
What will I need to do?
You will be required to create a portfolio of work relating to your three areas which breaks down as follows:
- Create a variety of resources and evaluate their educational impact
- Develop an action plan for using digital media in the classroom
- Keep a reflective log.
You will be encouraged to create video or sound bites instead of writing, but you can choose other methods if you wish.
By the end of this short course you will hopefully be well on the road to being digitally literate and more able to access the modern world which our children already inhabit as digital natives, but we inhabit as digital immigrants.
Support via a Virtual Learning Environment, email, phone and webinar.
