Northern Grid has negotiated a deal with Gigajam on behalf of its partner local authorities. This deal means that the first 5 lessons for Guitar, Bass, Drums and Keyboards are available, free of charge, to schools in Northern Grid’s partner Local Authorities.
Schools have access to the first half grade of The Essential Guitar, Bass, Keyboards and Drums Skills courses (over 20 hours of tuition per student).
Gigajam lessons follow the See, Hear, Play and Improve principle. The students can access easy to read lesson notes then watch a video of the exercises and techniques. They can then practice by playing along using the ‘Xtractor’ software and then get feedback on their performance using the Gigajam Analyser.
The Gigajam resource also lends itself to ‘Blended Learning’ techniques through personalised learning, whole class tuition, collaborative learning and live performance.
If you would like to know more about how Gigajam can help you achieve your ICT curriculum requirements, develop Personalised Learning, increase e-assessment and cross boundary learning, whilst achieving entitlement for all then please contact Northern Grid at admin@northerngrid.org.uk with the subject line ‘Gigajam’.
Gigajam is accrediting centres and schools where best practice has been demonstrated. If you would like to become an accredited interactive music school then please submit your case study of Gigajam in action to admin@northerngrid.org.uk with the subject line ‘Gigajam Case Study’.
