Riverside Centre, North Tyneside
DescriptionThe Riverside Centre was built by North Tyneside Council with financial assistance of North Tyneside City Challenge and the European Community. It was designed by award winning Newcastle architects Jane Derbyshire and David Kendal Ltd, the Centre's construction allows all the users of the building to combine and mix. Each area of activity is linked by a central street. The street is visually stunning with an abstract mural as its floor, and a stained glass window at one end by Newcastle Glass artist Bridget Jones.
The Centre accommodates a range of child care and early years education courses for students at the start of their careers and those wishing to improve their professional skills. The Centre promotes an ongoing dialogue with parents, employers and other professionals to develop a comprehensive approach to child care services. The Centre aims to promote choice, in particular we are committed to encouraging new economic and social activity and new training and educational opportunities.
