It signposts appropriate opportunities to embed e-safety within the curriculum and free online teaching resources from a range of organisations to help support lessons.
Northern Grid is an accredited internet services supplier26 November 2010 Northern Grid's accreditation from Becta has been renewed. The Becta Accreditation of Internet Services enables schools and other establishments to make an informed choice of a managed internet service provider or web content filtering solution. Accredited products and services must meet and maintain specific standards in web content filtering and service performance. The standards of assessment have been developed in consultation with partners in education and industry to ensure the provision of reliable and relevant information. The scheme re-launched during Safer Internet Week in February 2009, following a review. How to Join a Becta Forum Group07 July 2009One of the problems with being a SENCO or a SEN co-ordinator is that you are somewhat isolated in your own institution. If you need to ask someone about a specific ICT problem which relates to SEN it can be difficult to find an expert locally. One of the best ways to get round this problem is to subscribe to one of the Internet email forums. This may sound daunting and it also sounds like it will cost you something.
