Northern Grid has been organising these regional awards since 2003.  Schools are able to enter work for a number of different categories.  
 
The awards provide a showcase for schools, teachers and pupils together with the chance to win valuable ICT prizes donated by national hardware and software developers.
 
Local Authorities are able to nominate schools for the Overall Excellence in ICT award.  These schools demonstrate the use of ICT in all aspects of their work.
 
Schools received their awards and prizes at a presentation ceremony at the Ramside Hall Hotel Durham on 19th June 2008.
 
Every year the awards attract more entries and the standard improves. This site gives details of winners and highly commended schools.  For some categories there were impressive entries that did not receive awards, these are included as our favourites.
