Information:

This project arose from a demonstration by Amazing Interactive at Teeside CLC about the possibilities of 3D immersion theatre in education. This led to collaboration between Egglescliffe School and Amazing Interactives, funded by the CLCs, with the output being the material for a disc devoted to teaching "Much Ado About Nothing" to secondary students.

Pupils studied Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing" and developed character roles. They analysed the language and made up songs and accents. They were then trained and coached by Miss Rowling and Mr Gears before the recording sessions with Amazing Interactives. The teacher created other content including narration, resources and model answers.

3D games technology was used to create the scenes and the user can isolate characters, scenes and scenarios from any point in the play. There are activities for students to carry out together with exemplars of the type of answers that students might use.

I learnt about all the work that goes into interactive games and voice recording.

"Participating has helped make learning Shakespeare seem a lot less stressful. I have learnt that voice-over work can be fantastic fun. Wanting a career in performing arts usually restricts me to performing only on stage, however, working on this project has allowed me to experience something different.
