Objectives
For the students to experiment further with a walk along toy. The toy is to use cams, levers and pulleys etc. in its construction so that a suitable movement is produced by the toy as it moves.
Equipment Required
Full range of workshop tools and materials.

Plan
Discuss the sort of toy envisaged and sketch on the board to illustrate this. The sort of toy in mind is a little drummer, man rowing a boat etc. Ask the students for further examples.
The materials should be on show for the students to touch and look at to assist in the design of the project.
The students should now produce several sketches from which a final design and work plan will be produced.
From the drawing the students should start to construct their project. Help will be available both individually or as required.
Some mechanisms will have to be demonstrated to the students to clarify their operation.
Once the project is completed it should be finished with suitable colours and varnished.
Evaluation should perhaps be performed as a group where others can try out the toys.
