Year 9/10 Autistic/Developmental Curriculum
Objectives
To assist the students in producing a sign for SEB (you could use anything here) saying SEB 2000 (spelt out in hands) bringing everyone together. The students will have to cut out smooth and paint elements of the sign.
Equipment Required
Paper, pencils, chalk board duster, coping and hegner saws, scissors and plywood sheet 3.00 mm.

Plan
Draw around the students hands individually. For those who prove difficult, chalk their hands and print them on black paper.
Cut out the hands and draw around them onto the plywood. Individually cut around the outline with the students, hand over hand.
Once the hands are cut out they need to be smoothed and this is done with glasspaper. The hands and then the nails will then be painted and then varnished, once dry.
The individual letters are to be printed on the computer and cut out and used as stencils for the letters.
These will be cut out individually with the students, smoothed, painted and varnished.
The backboard will be painted and varnished and then the work assembled with 2000 spelt out with hands. The finished item will be fixed above the entrance to SEB.
