Plan
Christmas, Birthday, New Year, Yule and other festivals all provide reasons for making such cards. Describe the sort of card envisaged and allow the students access to the resource and stationery materials. Ask for care to be taken when handling the resources.
Some demonstrations of potential mechanisms will be necessary to the group. Models need to be made beforehand.
The card should be planned on paper, several ideas, and some prototypes made and tried out. Once the design has been finalised it should be copied onto card.
Verses may be hand written or then printed out on the computer in a script font for effect.
For the weakest students the card can be planned on paper and printed on computer. This will allow a clip art picture verse and even a manufactures name to be added.
Envelopes can be made from white, coloured or sugar paper.
All prototypes and a selection of attempts should be stored in the students files.
